IDEAS ON HOW TO HELP THE TYPHOON HAIYAN DEVASTED AREAS

Featured Image

Myself and my family are fortunate that we are far from the path of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), but still I can’t help asking, “Lord what can I do? for my countrymen”

I am very thankful for the overwhelming comfort messages over the internet from every walks of life from so many countries around world.  I have been hearing various nationalities arriving in the affected provinces offering relief packages.  Thank you for that.  Nonetheless, there is no other people should care first for our countrymen other than us Filipinos because we understand the place, the culture and feeling losses of lives and property.  Although we Filipinos eat calamity news for breakfast, this most recent devastation is incomparable.  I can’t just watch the news while my countrymen are in grief.  I have to do something, home someone out there will partner with me.  I lack the finances and resources but I have the experience and capabilities to support on a long term basis.

Food, drinks, clothing, medical supplies and attention are undoubtedly the most immediate needs.  But seeing videos and photos on site, shelter is also a necessity especially that rainfall is continuously pouring on this cold season of the year.  Another important need on site are alternative source of food and herbs for alternative medications, school rooms and alternative source of power for lightnings even without traditional electricity and expensive  hard to maintain solar panels.   I have unsolicited suggestions:

First things first:

1. Moringa (or Malunggai) can prevent spread of diseases and strengthen immune system of the people in the typhoon devastated areas:

–  Best antibiotic and cure through intake of moringa juice from leaves

– Can clean and purify dirty water and eliminate bacteria causing diseases

– More nutritional value than any other food and easy to find

– Easy to plant and propagate and cheap to buy

2. USED CONTAINER VANS for fast to built compartment mass houses and won’t cost much compare to traditional concrete homes:

3. GREEN HOUSE FARMING BOTH FOR AGRI FARMING AND AQUA CULTURE

If I will be supported or be recruited by an NGO, I can provide a research paper proposal for a genuine sustainable long term support and assistance to the people devastated by typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in the Philippines.
