Kadayawan festival is an annual festive event held in Davao City every third week of August showcasing bountiful harvest of fruits, vegetables and blooming of Davao’s exotic flowers.
See for yourself and expect streets dancing with colorful costumes, ethnic dances, and extravagant parades.
The week long celebration is a display of Davaoeños artistic, cultural, and historical heritage. Local and foreign tourist gather together to mark this event and at the same time, get a taste of the region’s luscious fruits and harvests.
The festival is free for everyone.
Kadayawan’s main highlights are set to happen during the third week of August. Based on the schedules of the past Kadayawan Festivals, we estimate that the highlights will take place on the weekend of August 17 & 18, 2013. We recommend that you should already be in Davao by Friday, August 16, 2013. We will update this post as soon as the official schedule are:
August 17, 2013 (Saturday) –
Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan is a street dance competition taking place at the city center’s major streets with a grand showdown happening at the Rizal Park.
August 18, 2013 (Sunday) –
Pamulak Kadayawan is a float parade showcasing Davao’s flowers and fruits artistically arranged into decorative floats
