6.8 Magnitude Earthquake for Solomon Island

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake just happened in the Solomon Islands (Sunday April 11, 2010 at 08:40 p.m.), as per reported by U.S. Geological Survey or USGS. As per reported, the epicenter was located 100 km WSW of Kira Kira, San Cristobal, Solomon Islands; 205 km (130 miles) SE of HONIARA, Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands; 245 km (150 miles) S of Auki, Malaita, Solomon Islands; and 2025 km (1260 miles) NNE of BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia. The latest earthquake is not expected to cause a Tsunami, as believed by the expert and was announced by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and NWS (National Weather Services) and West Coast and Alaska. In the contrary, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach, Hawaii will issue a statement regarding the possibility of any tsunami due to the Solomon Islands earthquake for Hawaii and other areas of the Pacific.

Russian Plane Crashed with Polish President

It’s a sad news for Russia as its Russian plane crashed on Saturday having on board the Polish President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and some of the country’s highest military and civilian leaders whom believed to instantly died during a landing process on a thick fog in Western Russia. All passengers which is 96, believed instantly died as per report gathered. As mentioned, there were no survivors on the 26-year-old Tupolev. They arrived from an event marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police.
