Pampers On Hot Seat

It was reported that the Leading diaper brand Pampers had a recall order regarding their Dry Max technology.  It was mentioned that the chemical within the diapers caused chemical burns and rashes to babies.  In the contrary, Procter and Gamble disagree in line with their claim that there is no proof to negative reports. A pediatric dermatologist backed this up, claiming that this new diaper is better than the earlier version and poses no risk.  But Procter and Gamble promised immediate pull-out of their concerned diaper brand if they found valid reason to do so.

For complaints and remarks about this matter, concerned parents are urged to report to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission hotline at 1-800-638-2772

Tylenol Recalled Again

We had a previous report on Tylenol last 2009…

Another recall for this year for Tylenol caplets was ordered by Johnson & Johnson due to a moldy smell that made some users sick.  The voluntarily recall applies to some batches of Tylenol caplets, geltabs, arthritis treatments, rapid release, and extended relief Tylenol, as well as Motrin IB, chewable extra strength Rolaids, Benadryl allergy tablets, and St. Joseph aspirin as to information provided by McNeil Consumer Healthcare Products business.  The problem also affects some lots of its fever and pain drug Motrin.  The recall applies to products sold in the Americas, the United Arab Emirates, and Fiji.

Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplets – Recalled

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said late on Monday that a voluntary recall of Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplets is being expanded voluntarily by J & J.  One reason for the recall was the unusual musty or mildew-like odor that was associated with nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea as per mentioned by the FDA .

It involved five lots of the product in November and may have been caused by the breakdown of a chemical used to treat wooden pallets that transport and store packaging materials.  The FDA said consumers who bought Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplet 100-count bottles with the red cap from the lots included in the recall should stop using the product and contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare for a refund or replacement.  Also mentioned is the health effects.  Although the compound have not been well studied, the events reported to the company have been temporary and not serious.
