Davao Philippines’Cavendish Bananas is known deliciously sweet.

  • Philippine is now the 2nd Largest Exporter of Bananas in the world.
  • The majority of these shipments are destined for the growing regional markets of China, the Middle East and, to a lesser extent, Russia to satisfy their demand for fresh produce
  • Exports of Philippine bananas for the last quarter of this year are expected to rise following China’s lifting of restrictions on Philippine exports early this month.
  • Below are the 15 countries that accounted for the highest dollar value worth of bananas exported from the Philippines during 2015:
  1. Japan: US$176.9 million (40.2% of total bananas imports)
  2. China: $109.2 million (24.8%)
  3. South Korea: $51.6 million (11.7%)
  4. Iran: $33.8 million (7.7%)
  5. United Arab Emirates: $19.2 million (4.4%)
  6. Saudi Arabia: $12.9 million (2.9%)
  7. Kuwait: $8.7 million (2%)
  8. New Zealand: $6.5 million (1.5%)
  9. Hong Kong: $5.2 million (1.2%)
  10. Singapore: $5.1 million (1.2%)
  11. Malaysia: $2.3 million (0.5%)
  12. Taiwan: $2.1 million (0.5%)
  13. North Korea: $1.7 million (0.4%)
  14. Bahrain: $1.1 million (0.2%)
  15. Qatar: $912,000 (0.2%)
  • Among the above countries, the fastest-growing consumers of Philippine bananas exports since 2011 were: Bahrain (up 822.2% in value), Saudi Arabia (up 638.1%), Malaysia (up 312.3%) and Kuwait (up 195.4%).Production system ranges from backyard to highly integrated operation with the latter catering to the export market.
  • Weak demand in the EU.
  • Total import of fruit by the Philippines from 2008 till 2013. The highest volume of imports occurred in 2012 reaching 240,477MT while the lowest was in 2008 to 187,265MT. The average annual growth rate was 3.68% during this time period.
  • Philippine farms produced a total of 8.65m tonnes of bananas valued at P117.15bn ($2.6bn) in 2013, down from a peak of 9.23m tonnes worth P108.13bn ($2.4bn) the previous year, according to PSA data. Concerted efforts over the past two decades to expand banana production have led to the commodity becoming the country’s most valuable crop as well as its most profitable agricultural export.
  • The past years, the yield dramatically been reduced due to destruction brought about by the strong typhoons that hit the country particularly the major producing areas in Mindanao. Another calamity was the most recent “El Nino.”  Nevertheless, these are not typical and Mindanao is not a typhoon belt.
  • Overall, the average annual growth rate was 0.26% and 16%, respectively for production and area for the six-year time period.
  • The farms are generally small in size (1-5 ha) with minimal care resulting to low yield.
  • Big farms are typically managed by Cooperatives, Organizations and Investment Companies

No one is an island in the field of business as education, experience and money are not enough and is

not a guarantee for success.   Believe or not, many end in losses of their hard earned money and wasted a lot of time.  Sad to say, there is no “UNDO” command button to regain what you own.  One common reason for the mistake is that most Entrepreneur invested in their desired business but did not put a dime to produce Feasibility Study Study or Business Plan.  Without it is like entrusting your money to the wind or building a building without structural design and computation.

Please take note that a Feasibility Study and other form of preparation is not just for Seller, but also crucial to Buyers and Importers.  One clear proof to this is one of client’s experience as stated in my other document

Earn More in Cavendish Banana Export

Cavendish Banana Export and Trade opportunities in the Philippines is very lucrative if you genuinely knew how and where to get it reliably.

My intention is satisfied client and long term business relationship, I don’t just think about what I will earn in one deal. What I mean is if you will just buy from the company I represent, the price may be high because it is affected by how big companies dealt with farm owners and large demands caused by seasons as the upcoming Iranian New Year (recently Chinese New Year and Christmas season).  Nonetheless, I can help you get lower the price but I need your cooperation.

Below is what I suggest to lower your expenses and increase your profit:

– I need to represent you directly to the farms to where Chiquita, Dole and Delmonte get their bananas. Foreigners cannot just go to them by themselves as it is both unsafe and too far from City proper.  Their contacts and addresses are also not found in the internet. What mostly found is only Trader-Broker or giant companies as Dole and Delmonte and Chiquita.

**Their secret is they only buy the fruits and pay the separately for the packing. They

manage themselves from packing to loading till container reaches consignee

– They order the box themselves directly through local representative form box manufacturer enough for a month continuous deliver.  They reorder and reorder on a regular basis timely for monthly requirement.  The box supply are stored with inventory either in the box manufacturer’s warehouse or farmer’s stock room.

– They apply local permit to operate legally and export bananas to where they intend them to be delivered.  The cost is only minimal for the permit fees

https://fyi09.wordpress.com/2009/12/14/how-to-establish-your-business-in-the-philippines/

– They partner with local forwarder for continuous supply of container  of your choice on a weekly basis, tracking of ships, timely schedules like ETD and ETA, assurance and insurance, monitoring of container supply of power while in the care of shipping firms to avoid damages on bananas.  If you don’t partner with a reliable Forwarder, you cannot get containers of your choice anytime you want because big companies already made reservations and they signed years contract.

– You/We need to hire local trusted Quality Inspector (but with my hands-on monitoring and administration for every stage of operations till the container reaches you or your consignee.

– I can assure you of risk management and damage control if we partner.  If in any case there are damage boxes/bananas, with your report-claim with code of box and photo, I can ask the farmers for replacement readily been given in the next shipment.

– You need to open a local bank account for a speedy transaction and payment to farmers for timely harvest and delivery of bananas  (I suggest Banco De Oro Philippines – the largest and most reliable in the Philippines and also have branches/affiliated partners in many countries of the world).  With this, your money is safe not even me can touch it…

you can and will transact to them directly either through the internet or phone.  The farmers also uses this bank so wherever you are, you can immediately pay the farmers so there will be no delays in delivery.  Banco de Oro offers the needed business instruments as Letter of Credit, fund management, etc.
